Mazda CX-5 for the wifey.
Nice car.
But can I just say, after driving a VR6 and a Northstar 4.6 v8 for a year my feelings on the Skyactiv 2.5 liter can be summed up thusly...
Just so tinny sounding. Bleh.

If you think that’s bad, try my wife’s Rogue with the 2.5L QR25DE and CVT.

Sport mode can be kind of fun though.

We considered one of these a few years ago but the takeoff was just a little low powered for us. Otherwise we really liked the thing and I personally love the design.

Congrats! We have a 2013 CX-5 Sport. About to cross 50,000 miles and it’s still a great vehicle. We bought it new in December 2012. My wife loves it.

What year? I believe the CX-5 was updated in 2017.

They did. My wife preferred the 2015. Same engine tho.

I can hear the droning just from your description.

Great wifey car. Sporty if you dog it, but still good storage space.

We drove a CX-9 as well and DAYUM that is a nice car.
But it is just too big for our needs. I wish the CX-7 wasn’t such a piece of garbage. It would have been perfect.

I’m driving a 2015 CX-5 for a few weeks while my car is up for sale. Nothing amazing but it’s perfectly fine and drives well for a CUV.

Yup. 20% of ALL Mazda sales are CX-5s currently.

I think we need a spinoff of Oppo for people who buy Mazda crossovers. It seems like 20% of oppo would join

congrats - I really like those, especially with the 2.5. I agree, it doesn’t sound sexy in that application but it’s a nice motor. We nearly bought one, wife thought it was “too big” and ended up a a subie.
